Each new flow source detected by a Proxy Unit is reported to the Master Unit. The Master maps this flow source to the Source Group where it was detected and requests the primary Proxy Group to obtain flow source metadata using SNMP. Flow source metadata updates are requested regularly by the Master.
Deleting a flow source also removes its associated channel from the AllSources profile. This is automatically propagated to all sub-profiles and their channels. The delete operation is performed on the Master - it deletes an AllSources profile channel (standard profile operation propagated to Proxies and Slaves) and it also removes flow source from the database and from the list of flow sources of its Source Group. So, deleting the source discards all its data in the AllSources profile. In sub-profiles, the data stays intact.
