From the installer directory, double-click the installer file:
oajcinstaller.jar
The DataDirect OpenAccess SDK 8.1 JDBC Driver Installer window appears. Click Next to continue. The License Agreement window appears.
-
On the License Agreement window, perform one of the following actions:
- Accept the agreement by clicking the appropriate option. Then, click Next. The Custom Setup window appears.
- Do not accept the agreement by clicking Cancel to exit the installation.
-
A window appears allowing you to select the components to install.

Because the DataDirect OpenAccess SDK JDBC Driver option is required, that option is grayed out.
Select or clear the following option:
- Install DataDirect OpenAccess SDK Online Books: Select this option to install the OpenAccess SDK 8.1 library.
-
In the Install Directory field, type the path, including the drive letter on Windows machines, of the JDBC Client installation directory or click the ... button next to the field to select an installation directory.
Note: The default value for the installation directory is the directory from which the installer is running. Verify that you have entered or selected the correct directory into which you want to install the JDBC Client. If you have a previous version of the JDBC Client installed on the same machine, you must specify a directory different from the one for the previous version.
-
Click Next to continue. A window appears allowing you to confirm your installation options. Click Back to revise your choices, or click Install to install the JDBC Client. The JDBC Client is installed.
-
Click Finish to close the Installer.
