You require an OpenAI API Key to enable the AI Coding Assistant with Developer Studio. You can obtain the license key from https://platform.openai.com/signup?launch and perform the following steps:

  1. Open the OpenEdge project and navigate to Window > Preferences .
  2. In the Preferences window, click AssistAI. The Disclaimer dialog box appears.
    Note: The Disclaimer dialog box appears only once when you select AssistAI for the first time.
  3. Read the terms and conditions of using AI Coding Assistant with Developer Studio and click OK.
  4. Complete the following fields:
    1. In the OpenAI API Base field, enter https://api.openapi.com.
    2. In the OpenAI API Endpoint field, enter /v1/chat/completions.
    3. In the OpenAI API Key field, enter the OpenAI API key that you obtained from OpenAI.
      Note: You can use the same license key in multiple Developer Studio sessions.
    4. Select Show Key to view the OpenAI API Key.
    5. In the Chat Model Name field, enter the chat model name to use with the Developer Studio session.

      You can provide different OpenAI chat models in this field. For more information on the different chat models, see Chat Models.

    6. In the Vision Model Name field, enter the vision model name to use with AssistAI that is provided with the chat model name.
  5. To configure the settings for the AssistAI feature, read the disclaimer and click Apply.
  6. To close the Preferences window, click Apply and Close.
