The Update Assembly References tool operates on the files assemblies.xml and (if you use Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge ) toolbox.xml. There can be multiple instances of each of these files on your system. The tool lets you choose the specific instances that you want to update. Files to be updated are listed in the top pane of the Update Assembly References window. The file list is pre-populated in either of the following circumstances:

  • You launch the tool from Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge. In this case, all instances of assemblies.xml and toolbox.xml found in the current workspace appear in the list.
  • You launch the tool from a command prompt and specify the files to be updated as an argument on the command line.

To add a file that is not listed, click Add to open a file browser filtered to show XML files. Browse and select the desired file, and click Open.

To remove a file from the list, select it and click Remove.

The references that each listed file contains appear in the lower pane.
