To get more descriptive return codes and details, you can include either the -detail or -verbose argument when passing dsrutil dbname -C status. For example,

dsrutil dbname -C status -verbose

When the -detail argument is specified, the numeric value from the Status column below is returned. When the -verbose argument is specified, the numeric value is returned, along with the text in the Description column below. The output is returned via stdout. These codes are a subset of the codes that are returned when no argument is specified. By understanding the codes in combination with each other, you can obtain a more complete view of your status.

A query on the source produces a resulting value that is 1xxx or 6xxx. A query on the target produces a value that is 2xxx or 3xxx . For example,
6021; Server Normal Processing DSRUTIL source -C status -detail
3049; Agent Normal Processing DSRUTIL target -C status agent1 -detail
1063; Agent is Ended DSRUTIL source -C status agent2 -detail
See the following table for a list and description of the possible status code values and descriptions.
