Multi-Factor Authentication
The following topics detail how to manage and apply multi-factor authentication (MFA) to your WS_FTP Server user account in the Web Transfer Client.
Multi-factor authentication policies are set and updated by the system administrator in WS_FTP Server Manager, For more information, see Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Initial set up at sign in. Set up MFA on your account.
- Self select MFA for your account. Turn MFA on/off
- Signing in with alternative authentication methods.
Multi-factor authentication may be
- unenforced - unavailable to all users
- optional - allowing individual users to elect to use MFA
- enforced - required based on user class
- user exempt - specific users may be designated exempt from MFA by the system administrator.
