When you install OpenEdge, you are prompted to load the License Addendum file file for the OpenEdge license you purchased from Progress. This file contains the serial numbers and control codes for each of the OpenEdge products and components included in your license. Your License Addendum file is accessible from the Progress Software Download Center.

Alternatively during installation, you can manually enter the serial number and control code for each product listed in your License Addendum file. However, loading the file itself is the recommended method.

When you run the installation program, the installer records your license information in the OpenEdge configuration file, progress.cfg, which is located in the OpenEdge installation directory.
