OpenEdge requires certain platform-specific libraries and utilities to operate correctly. The operating systems provide these dependencies as packages, but they may be missing due to updates or minimal installations. Prior to installing OpenEdge, verify and install any dependencies manually because they are not included in the OpenEdge package. You may require elevated privileges to install the dependencies on the respective platforms.

The following table lists the libraries or utilities that may be missing for supported platforms, impacted OpenEdge components or utilities, and actions necessary to ensure full functionality:

compress ProInventory Install either ncompress or gzip on the respective platform before installing OpenEdge.
