OpenEdge provides diagnostic information to help the DBA manage OpenEdge interactions between TDE and HSM. The hsmvalidate utility:
  • Checks accessibility of a local or remote HSM, including the dynamic library versioning.
  • Validates OpenEdge TDE configuration information for HSM interactions, including keystore compatibility and versioning and security policy configuration.
Note: If the HSM administrator changes the HSM PIN for a database configured to autostart, you need to refresh autostart to use the new PIN before you can start the database. See Refresh autostart.

You can use hsmvalidate without being connected to the database.
