If a database is enabled for DDM, earlier versions of:
  • Database brokers cannot serve the database.
  • AVM cannot launch the database in single-user mode.
Remote client access from earlier versions of OpenEdge that are not aware of the DDM feature are also not allowed to open the database.
For example, if you have enabled your database for DDM, then:
  • Any broker earlier than OpenEdge 12.8 cannot serve the database.
  • No remote client or database utility earlier than OpenEdge 12.8 can launch the database in single-user mode.
