When you are ready to enable your database for TDE, two steps are required, as discussed in the following sections:
- Add an encryption policy area
- Run ENABLEENCRYPTION
- Enable BI file encryption after enabling encryption
- Enable AI file encryption after enabling encryption
- Verify enablements
- Add HSM as a second layer of TDE authentication
