The OpenEdge Command Center MCP Server provides read-only tools and prompts for retrieving authorized information from OpenEdge Command Center.

  • A direct tool retrieves one type of information, such as Server nodes, Agents, PAS instances, Web applications, and transports.
  • A composite tool combines information from multiple direct tools to provide a broader, task-oriented result. For example, a composite tool can combine PAS details, process information, filesystem-size information, properties, and related notifications into one report.
  • A prompt guides the MCP client to use read-only tools and present the results.
  • The MCP Server determines the information returned by its tools, subject to the authenticated user’s OpenEdge Command Center permissions. How the MCP client and its underlying LLM interpret, summarize, or present that information may vary.

The information returned by tools and prompts depends on the authenticated user’s OpenEdge Command Center roles and permissions. OpenEdge Command Center Server remains responsible for authorization, and the MCP server does not grant additional permissions.

Tools and prompts do not create, update, delete, deploy, start, stop, or otherwise modify OpenEdge Command Center resources. They do not manage credentials, passwords, personal access tokens, or multifactor authentication.

Composite tools

Tool Inputs Description
oecc_environment_overview include, filter (optional) Combines resource counts, status breakdowns, notable unhealthy resources, and OpenEdge Command Center Server node information into an environment overview. The optional include argument accepts servers, agents, installs, pas, ablapps, webapps, and databases; all are included by default.

If an optional source fails, a composite tool preserves successfully retrieved information and reports the failed source in partialFailures.

Prompts

All prompt arguments are optional. Prompts guide the MCP client to call read-only tools and support its conclusions with retrieved tool output. Prompts do not query OpenEdge Command Center independently.

Prompt Arguments Description
oecc_pasoe_health_check filter Guides the model to list PAS for OpenEdge instances, retrieve each selected instance and its process details, summarize overall health, and identify stopped or abnormal instances with supporting evidence and investigation guidance.
oecc_pasoe_memory_analysis filter, thresholdPercent (default 80) Guides the model to correlate PAS process and size information, flag usage above the specified threshold, and summarize memory health across the selected environment.
oecc_pasoe_incident_triage pasResKey, ablAppName, webAppName Guides the model to review PAS, process, Agent, and available transport information to identify a likely incident cause. When all three application identifiers are supplied, transport analysis focuses on that web application.
oecc_pasoe_transport_status pasResKey, ablAppName, webAppName Guides the model to discover the application scope, inspect REST, Web, APSV, and SOAP configuration, list services or handlers, and summarize which transports appear configured, enabled, and healthy.
oecc_database_health_check filter Guides the model to list databases, inspect each selected database, summarize availability and connection health, and identify unavailable resources. Storage- and table-level analysis is not included.
oecc_application_inventory filter Guides the model to correlate PAS for OpenEdge instances, ABL applications, web applications, application properties, and exposed services or handlers into an inventory grouped by PAS instance.
oecc_environment_overview_report None Guides the model to retrieve OpenEdge Command Center release information and inventory for Server nodes, OpenEdge installations, PAS for OpenEdge instances, databases, and Agents, then summarize the environment composition and health.

Prompts have no independent audit event because they do not call OpenEdge Command Center. Each tool invocation initiated from a prompt follows the normal authentication and auditing flow.
