After the installation program is finished, complete the following tasks to begin using OpenEdge:
- Create a database.
See Create and Delete Databases in Manage the OpenEdge Database.
- Start the database.
See Start Up and Shut Down in Manage the OpenEdge Database.
- Create a Progress Application Server (PAS) for OpenEdge instance.
- If you installed Progress Development Application Server for OpenEdge, a PAS for OpenEdge instance is already created.
- If you installed Progress Production
Application Server for OpenEdge, you must create a PAS for OpenEdge
instance.

- Start PAS for OpenEdge.
