You can modify partitions based on working modes that you set using the Service Parameter Maintenance menus and toolbar:
- Change record mode—This is the default working mode when you first display the tab for a partition type. The Change record mode allows you to delete or change the definition of the partition that you have selected in the partition list box.
- Add record mode—This is a working mode that you can set using the File menu or toolbar. The Add record mode allows you to create a new partition in the list.
- Copy record mode—This is a working mode that you can set using the File menu or toolbar. The Copy record mode allows you to create a new partition in the list using an existing partition as a template.
The menus duplicate the functions included on the toolbar. In the following menu item descriptions, the listed icon indicates the corresponding toolbar function.
File Menu
Add record |
Places the tool in Add record mode, which clears the fields on the displayed tab and allows you to enter new values to create another partition in the list. The tool stays in this mode until you save the current partition definition or cancel the mode. |
Copy record |
Places the tool in Copy record mode, which copies the field values from the partition that you have selected in the list and allows you to use or change these values to create another partition in the list. The tool stays in this mode until you save the current partition definition or cancel the mode. |
Delete record |
Deletes the partition that you have selected in the list and leaves the tool in Change record mode. |
Save record |
Saves all partition definitions for the current AppBuilder session. If the tool is in Add record mode or Copy record mode, the new partition is added to the list with its current definition, all other changes to partition definitions are saved, and the tool is returned to Change record mode. Otherwise, all changes to partition definitions are saved, and the tool remains in Change record mode. |
Undo record |
Resets tab field values to those initially displayed for the current partition in the working mode that is currently active. |
|
|
Cancels any current Add record mode or Copy record mode (discarding the pending partition definition) and resets field values to those initially displayed for the most recent Change record mode. |
|
Close |
Closes the Service Parameter Maintainence window (same as the Close button). Before closing, if you have changed or added an unsaved partition, the tool prompts you to save it. It also prompts whether you want to save the changes for future sessions or only for the current AppBuilder session. Changes saved only for the current session are lost when you exit the AppBuilder. |
