To re-license the LoadMaster using LoadMaster 360, follow these steps:

  1. Add the device to LoadMaster 360:

    1. Log in to https://portal.kemp.ax and go to Infrastructure > Device Inventory > Add Device.

    2. From the drop-down menu, click LoadMaster.

    3. Click Activate a new LoadMaster.

    4. Select a Connector and click Next.
Note: If you do not have a Connector deployed, then you must do that first. For further details, refer to the following section: Deploy the Connector Virtual Machine. If your Connector is not reachable, you will not be able to select it. If needed, refer to the Firewall and connectivity requirements or contact the Progress Kemp Support team for assistance.

    5. If you select LoadMaster Single, follow the below steps:
      • Enter a name for the LoadMaster.
Note: The only accepted characters for the LoadMaster name field are alphanumeric characters, dashes, underscores, and spaces.
      • You can optionally specify a Port.
Note: If you do not specify a port number, the default of port 443 is assumed.

When adding a LoadMaster that is deployed in Azure to LoadMaster 360, ensure to specify the port number, for example, 8443.

    6. If you select High Availability LoadMasters, follow the below steps:
      • Enter a name for the LoadMaster HA pair.
Note: The only accepted characters for the LoadMaster name field are alphanumeric characters, dashes, underscores, and spaces.
      • Enter the Partner shared secret.
Note: For further details, refer to the following page: Set the Partner Shared Secret.
      • Enter the HA Network Parameters:
          • Shared IPv4 address
          • HA first IPv4 address
          • HA second IPv4 address
Note: HA IP addresses must be unique.
      • You can optionally specify a Port.
Note: If you do not specify a port number, the default of port 443 is assumed.

When adding a LoadMaster that is deployed in Azure to LoadMaster 360, ensure to specify the port number, for example, 8443.

      • Specify a HA virtual ID. For further details on the HA virtual ID, refer to this page: HA Parameters.
      • Enter a new password in the Create password field for the bal administrator user.
Note: The password must be at least 8 characters long.
Note: The default administrator user on all LoadMasters is called bal.
      • Re-enter the new password in the Confirm password text box.
      • Use the Schedule enabled toggle to enable or disable backup scheduling for this LoadMaster.
      • If backup scheduling is enabled, select either Every day or Custom schedule (for example, weekdays only), and set the backup execution time.
      • Click Next.
  2. Select a new license:
    1. LoadMaster 360 attempts to connect to the device and check your entitlements.
    2. All your pooled license options will be displayed.
    3. Choose your desired license based on the LoadMaster sizing requirements.
    4. Click Next.
  3. Review and apply the changes:
    1. Review the details and changes being made to the LoadMaster.
    2. Click Finish to apply the chosen pooled license.
    3. The LoadMaster will now appear in your Device Inventory. It may take a minute or two for the device to appear healthy.
    4. While waiting, now would be a good time to log back into the LoadMaster User Interface. You might need to refresh the page to see the login prompt. After you log in using the bal user and password, go to Home and check the License Information. Confirm that the correct license has been applied. Next, go to System Configuration > System Administration > System Reboot and click Reboot to reboot the device. This ensures that the correct license entitlements are properly applied to the running system.
