Version 12.0.0
Date: 2022-03-02
Important information
-
Device will be rebooted during the update process.
-
Forward compatibility of exported configuration is guaranteed throughout all releases with the same major version number. Between major versions, the last stable release of the previous major version is guaranteed to export configuration that is compatible with the next major version. Example: For Flowmon 12 releases, configuration export from any 12.0.x release will be compatible with any future 12.1.y release. For upgrades between major versions, if 11.1.9 is the last version released for Flowmon 11 then configuration exported from this version is compatible with Flowmon 12 and can be imported.
-
The following appliances may require a reboot to successfully complete all Flowmon updates: Flowmon Probe 20000 Pro, Flowmon Probe 40000, Flowmon Probe 40000 Pro and Flowmon Probe 200000 Pro. Affected appliances will be rebooted automatically by the Flowmon update process.
What's New
-
To provide global network visibility in large cloud-based or hybrid infrastructure, Flowmon Collector is now able to receive flow data from cloud-native flow sources - Google Cloud VPC Flow Logs and Azure NSG Flow Logs. Flows from these sources can be processed and analyzed the same way as any other flows. Flowmon Collector can be deployed either on-prem or in the cloud to provide this functionality.
-
Flowmon Collector is now able to process TCP flags information from AWS VPC Flow Logs.
-
Flow Quality Analyzer - New command line tool is introduced to help expert users to evaluate quality of incoming flow records and their usability with Flowmon Collector.
-
System message notifications now provide information about originating unit in Distributed Architecture
-
Configuration of presets was removed from Configuration Center and it is now available only in the configuration section in the Dashboard and Reports page.
-
The login page is the default page and the user is required to be logged-in prior to accessing any other pages.
-
Dashboard improvement - a new magnifier icon added to the top of each widget on the Dashboard. This allows a fast drill-down. It opens the same overview of the data as in the widget on the Analysis page or in the corresponding Flowmon module. For widgets defined in Monitoring Center, it is now possible to run the query immediately (Open in Analysis & run query) or to enable the user to run it manually - e.g. after an additional modification of a filter (Open in Analysis).
-
Dashboard improvement - new actions can be performed over the data in widgets on the Dashboard. These actions allow more detailed analysis and enables the user to easily copy the data (e.g. IP address) to clipboard (click and select Copy to clipboard) or to open the same overview of the data as in the widget in Analysis with an extended filter about the selected item (Open in Analysis and add to filter.)
-
Reports improvement- the layout of reports exported to PDF from the Dashboards and Reports was redesigned to provide users more information, with a focus on providing higher information value, better readability and a new visual style.
-
Reports improvement - an enhanced chapter list in Dashboard and Reports. It shows all available chapters, even those created in another Flowmon module.
-
Reports improvement - the edit and delete actions can now be performed over the chapters in the chapter listing page in Dashboard and Reports. If the chapter that is to be modified or deleted had been created in a different module, it redirects the user to a chapter edit window in the respective module.
-
Reports improvement - a new magnifier icon added to the top of each report’s chapter. As in Dashboard, this option allows a fast drill-down. It opens the same overview of the data as in a chapter on the Analysis page or in the corresponding Flowmon module. For chapters defined in Monitoring Center, it is now possible to run the flow data query immediately (Open in Analysis & run query) or enable the user to run it manually - e.g. after additional filter modification (Open in Analysis).
-
Topology improvement - immediate UI response to any topology change and many other UI and UX improvements.
-
Topology improvement - redesigned link detail of topology widget.
-
Topology improvement - user can now access the topology even when having insufficient permissions to all used profiles (data in the Topology map will still be available only as per the permissions the user has).
-
All widgets and chapters from Application Performance Monitoring (APM) are now available in the central Dashboard and Reports and it fully replaces Flowmon APM module built-in dashboarding & reporting functionality starting with version 5.0., the APM widgets’ names and chapters’ names and descriptions were consolidated and improved. Multiple bugs were fixed and UI of the APM chapters was improved too.
