Home Folder Permissions

Home Folder Permissions enables global default user-home folder settings for the users in your org (Settings > Security Policies - Folder: Home Folder Permissions).

Home Folder Permissions enables you to:

  • Implement home a folder security policy for all org users in a few clicks.
  • Delegating folder sharing authority to regular users (giving users the ability to break from their parent folder's access permissions).
  • Change access permissions for first-level home folder of all org users. (They will NOT be implicitly applied to subfolders of the home folder).
  • Much more...
Note: If all home folder permissions are cleared (removed), users will NOT be able to upload to, download from, share, or even view their home folder unless you add permissions directly to the folder.

Control used to select default Home folder permissions for all org users (new and existing)

Tip: You can also override folder permission and share settings on a user-by-user basis (Users > User profile name > View Home Folder [Permissions and Settings]).

Copy/Move

This section allows the admin to edit the default Copy/Move settings for the organization. The one setting in this section determines the default value for the uploader information option provided when copying or moving a file in MOVEit Transfer. The option allows the copying/moving user to insert their information as the uploader of the file, or leave the original uploader information.

Tip: Many more folder properties are configured through the Folder Settings links available from each folder.
