Share folders in just a few steps:

Open a folder. From MOVEit Transfer, open a folder.

Edit parent or subfolder settings. Edit sharing settings for any of the following:

  • Current working folder ().
  • A subfolder ().
  • A new folder. Click Add Folder, name it, open it, and define its share settings ().

Break chained permissions model (if necessary).

To share a folder that uses its parent folder share settings (default), you must opt to make those folder share and access settings Custom.

For example:

Add users and groups. Edit/control the access list.

  • Select/clear permission attributes as needed to address user needs and apply folder sharing scenarios.
  • Add regular and temp users from your contacts list (available to Ad Hoc users).
  • Add guest/unregistered users with their email.
  • Click Check Recipients to verify the email address(es) you entered is valid.
Note: You can also add a custom message to notify users when you share the folder with them, the purpose of the folder, and more.

Type in a message for the user (optional) and then click Add.
