Purpose

The name of the application to be stored in the database. For Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and higher and Windows Azure SQL Database, this property sets the program_name column in the sysprocesses table in the database. For Microsoft SQL Server 7, this value is stored locally. This value is used for database administration/monitoring purposes.
