The Progress® DataDirect Connect® Series for JDBC™ provides JDBC drivers for a number of leading databases. The drivers are compliant with Type 4 architecture, but provide advanced features that define them as Type 5 drivers. Additionally, the drivers consistently support the latest database features and are fully compliant with Java™ SE 8 and JDBC 4.0 functionality.

Note: This guide contains information for the 5.1.4 version of the JDBC drivers. For 6.0 and higher version of the drivers, documentation is available at the Progress DataDirect Connectors Documentation page.

Progress DataDirect Connect Series for JDBC includes the following products:

  • DataDirect Connect for JDBC
  • DataDirect Connect XE for JDBC

This guide is your resource for customizing and using the drivers. The content of this guide assumes you are familiar with your operating system and its commands, the definition of directories, and accessing a database through an end-user application.
