Tenancy administration is limited to Progress Data Cloud components. Service-specific components such as these
  • KMM Models
  • MarkLogic Server Service Databases

fall under the purview of service administrators assigned such roles as Studio Super Administrator and MarkLogic Administrator.

A tenant administrator is someone with either the Tenant Administrator or the Tenant Co-Administrator role. See Built-in roles. Someone with the Tenant Co-Administrator role can do everything that a user assigned the Tenant Administrator role can do except assigning the Tenant Co-Administrator role to a user.

As a tenant administrator, you have these responsibilities:

  • Creating and managing domains for this tenancy.

  • Creating and managing roles.

  • Inviting and managing users and service accounts.

  • Assigning roles to users and service accounts.

  • Ensuring that service data is regularly backed up according to your organization's requirements.

  • Working with users, your organization, and the Progress Data Cloud Operations Team to solve any registration and service access issues.

  • Acting as a liaison between users and the Progress Data Cloud Operations Team.

  • Monitoring service stats.

Tenant administrators may assign themselves additional Progress Data Cloud roles, acquiring all of the capabilities and responsibilities that come with those roles.

Data backup

While Progress Data Cloud automatically backs up critical platform data, it is the responsibility of each tenant to ensure that their hosted service data is regularly backed up. Progress recommends that tenants establish a backup cadence appropriate to their business continuity needs.
