Requires:

  • A tenant administrator: To make any role changes.
  • A regular user: To view their own roles.

Accessed:

  • By tenant administrators: Set Default User Roles sidebar from Roles page.
  • By tenant administrators: Invite User, Create Service Account, and Edit User, and Edit Service Account sidebars from Users page.
  • By regular users (View Only): Your currently assigned roles area of the Account Settings page.

Appears:

  • As a tabbed group of radio buttons at the bottom of the sidebar.

Contains:

Multiple tabs. Each tab contains a group of roles for each instance of that service. A role whose switch is enabled is considered assigned.

  • Cloud Tab: This tab contains roles related to SharePoint Online and Progress Data Cloud in general.
  • Semaphore Tab: This tab contains roles related to Semaphore services, organized by studio.
  • MarkLogic Database Tab: This tab contains roles related to MarkLogic Server Services, organized by environment and service instance within an environment. This tab includes any custom roles.
  • Data Hub Central Tab: This tab contains roles related to Hub Central, organized by environment and service instance within an environment.

Note:

  • For a quick definition of a role, hover over its name on its tab.

  • For more detailed information about a non-custom role, see Built-in roles.

  • To access Progress Data Cloud, a user must be assigned at least one role in at least one instance of at least one product service.

  • To access service endpoints and API Details for services other than MarkLogic Database, a user must be assigned the API User role from the Semaphore Tab.

  • The Custom Role Icon next to a role means that this role is a custom role created within your tenancy. Its function is not described in this guide.

  • The Lock Icon next to a role means that this role is assigned through an external service provider when a user signs in. Tenant administrators cannot directly assign this role.
