Notes

  • This section is for users assigned the Tenant Administrator or Tenant Co-Administrator role.
  • Tenancy administration covers only Progress Data Cloud components. Service-specific components, such as KMM Models and MarkLogic Server Service databases, are managed by service administrators with roles such as Studio Super Administrator or MarkLogic Administrator.
  • The functions described in this section can also be accessed through the Progress Data Cloud Management REST API.

Tenant Administrator

A tenant administrator has either the Tenant Administrator role or the Tenant Co-Administrator role. See Built-in roles.

Users with the Tenant Co-Administrator role can do everything users with the Tenant Administrator role can do, except assign the Tenant Co-Administrator role to another user.

Tenant Administrator responsibilities

As a tenant administrator, you are responsible for:

  • Creating and managing domains for this tenancy.

  • Creating and managing roles.

  • Inviting and managing users and service accounts.

  • Assigning roles to users and service accounts.

  • Ensuring that service data is regularly backed up according to your organization's requirements.

  • Working with users, your organization, and the Progress Data Cloud Operations Team to resolve registration and service access issues.

  • Acting as a liaison between users and the Progress Data Cloud Operations Team.

  • Monitoring service statistics.

Tenant administrators may assign themselves additional Progress Data Cloud roles. Each additional role grants its associated capabilities and responsibilities.

Data backup

Progress Data Cloud automatically backs up critical platform data, but each tenant is responsible for regularly backing up data for its hosted services. Establish a backup cadence that supports your business continuity needs.
