The Hybrid Data Pipeline server, On-Premises Connector, and JDBC driver require a compatible JVM to run the installer and for runtime operation. The ODBC driver requires a compatible JVM only for running the installer.

Note: For information on JVM requirements, see Product requirements.

Hybrid Data Pipeline server

When you run the Hybrid Data Pipeline server installer, it searches for a compatible JVM on your system path. The compatible JVM it finds on your system path is used to run the installer. In addition, this JVM appears as the default JVM to be used with the server. During installation, you may provide a path to a separate JVM if preferred.

On-Premises Connector

As with the server installer, the On-Premises Connector installer searches for a compatible JVM and uses it to run the installer. You may use this JVM or select a different JVM to use with the On-Premises Connector during installation.

JDBC driver

For the JDBC driver, the installer offers no configuration options. Before installing the JDBC driver, a compatible JVM must be installed on the host machine and defined on the system path.

ODBC driver

For the operation of the ODBC driver installer, a compatible JVM must be installed on the host machine and defined on the system path.
