To install OpenEdge on UNIX or Linux platforms, download the OpenEdge software image from the Progress Software Download Center and launch the interactive installation program. You can optionally use the installation program to do the following:

  • Capture a response file during the installation procedure that you can use to create a silent installation script, which automates the installation of OpenEdge products across a network.
  • Create a custom installation bundle for UNIX or Linux machines to install a specific set of OpenEdge products uniformly throughout multiple machines on your network.
  • Install additional products, or product components, to an existing installation at a later time.
