To install a specific set of OpenEdge products uniformly throughout multiple Windows machines on your network, you can create an installation bundle. An installation bundle is a subset of the OpenEdge software image that contains the products for which you are licensed, and provides a convenient means to replicate an installation throughout your environment.

To create a custom installation bundle for Windows machines, complete the following steps:

  1. Open a command window.
  2. Enter the location of your downloaded OpenEdge software image, and specify the setup.exe -generate_product_bundle command, as in the following example:
    c:\users\abc\openedge\setup.exe -generate_product_bundle
Note: Make sure that this path contains your downloded OpenEdge software image.
The Welcome dialog box appears. Click OK.
  3. In the Serial Number and Control Code dialog box, enter the serial number and control codes for each product that you want to include in the new installation bundle manually or click Load to read a license addendum file. The serial number and control codes indicate the OpenEdge products that you want to include in the installation bundle. Click Next.
  4. In the Progress Media Bundle Location dialog box, click Browse and navigate to the directory where you want the installation bundle to be created. Click Next.
  5. In the Summary dialog box, Click OK.
  6. A status message is displayed indicating that the installation bundle is being created. The Finish screen appears after the installation bundle is created. Click OK to complete the procedure.
You can now run the OpenEdge installation from the new installation bundle location to install the selected products.
