Once MFA is set up for your account, the log on process includes an additional verification step. This ensures that only you can access your WS_FTP Server account, even if your password is compromised.
Log on process
- Navigate to the WS_FTP Server log on page. Enter your credentials.
- Open the authenticator app on your mobile device. Enter the current verification code for WS_FTP Server displayed in the app into the Verification Code field on the log on page.
- Click Verify.
Verification codes are time sensitive. If the code is incorrect or expired, you will be prompted to try again. Authenticator codes refresh every 30 seconds, so always use the latest code.
Failed MFA attempts and IP lockouts
- Entering three incorrect MFA codes during the log on process is treated as one failed login attempt against the IP lockout and failed login rules.
- If a sufficient number of failed log on attempts are made, including those resulting from incorrect MFA codes, this may result in your IP address being locked out or your user account being disabled, according to your organization's security policy.
