The Flow source dialog has two tabs. The first contains general information about the flow source and allows you to modify its properties. The second contains information specific to users and their access rights to the flow source.

General

Display Name. The name used for the source within applicable NTA reports.

Enable data collection from this source. Enable this toggle to turn on/off data collection. Note, sources consume licenses (excludes aggregated sources).

SNMP polling. This section of the dialog allows you to set an SNMP credential to be used for polling information from the source. You can also set values for Timeout and Retries as well as enable polling for interface traffic, NBAR statistics, and/or CBQoS statistics.

Note: The most important information to obtain from polling is interface general information, such as interface name, interface type, interface speed, and interface status. Without this information, NTA can only identify interfaces by their SNMP index. Also, NTA can not calculate interface utilization without having interface speed. This polling is performed whenever the credential is change and by clicking the Refresh icon to the right of the SNMP Credentials field.

Interfaces. This grid displays all source interfaces associated with the flow source and provides controls for managing them. Select any interface, then click the Edit icon to launch the Flow Interface dialog where you can make changes to the interface properties. You can also select any interface, then click Collect or Discard to either collect or discard, respectively, traffic seen only on that interface. Lastly, note that you have the ability to search for specific interfaces by name using the search field provided.

Access Rights

This tab presents controls for allowing and restricting web users from seen sources.
