Note: Use the Kill License option with caution. Using the Kill License option makes the MOVEit WAF WUI inaccessible and will interrupt all MOVEit WAF services.

The prerequisites for transferring a MOVEit WAF license are as follows:

  • You can only transfer a permanent license that is under active Support subscription.

  • The transferred license can be applied to an existing Trial MOVEit WAF or a newly deployed MOVEit WAF machine.

To transfer a permanent license from one MOVEit WAF device to another, you must kill your existing MOVEit WAF device license, and use the available license to license an existing Trial or newly deployed MOVEit WAF using your Progress ID or Order ID.

Follow these steps to kill an existing MOVEit WAF license:

  1. In the main menu of the MOVEit WAF WUI, go to System Configuration > System Administration > License Management.

  2. Select Online Licensing from the drop-down list.

  3. Enter the Progress ID and Password.

  4. Click Kill License to remove the license from this MOVEit WAF device.

  5. Once Kill License option is clicked, the MOVEit WAF WUI will be inaccessible and MOVEit WAF device enters into an unlicensed state.

  6. The Progress ID email address will receive an email notifying that the license was killed.

Follow these steps to apply the available license on another MOVEit WAF device:

  1. Go to an already deployed Trial MOVEit WAF WUI to which you intend to transfer the permanent license to.

  2. In the main menu of the MOVEit WAF WUI, go to System Configuration > System Administration > License Management.

  3. Select Online Licensing from the drop-down list.

  4. Enter the Progress ID and Password.

    Note: You can also use the Order ID number if you are not the original license owner.
  5. Click Update License.

  6. Select the permanent license available under Subscription.

    Note: You may see more than one permanent license if there are multiple licenses available.
  7. Click Continue.

  8. On successful license transfer, all features of the old license will be available on MOVEit WAF.

OR

  1. Deploy a new MOVEit WAF device.

  2. Enter the Progress ID and Password.

    Note: You can also use the Order ID number if you are not the original license owner.
  3. Click License Now.

  4. Select the permanent license available.

    Note: You may see more than one permanent license if you have multiple licenses available.
  5. Click Continue.

  6. On successful license transfer, all features of the old license will be available on MOVEit WAF.
