You can install the Packet Investigator (the collector package) on a dedicated Flowmon Collector appliance or on a Flowmon Probe appliance with built-in Flowmon Collector functionality.

The collector's installation package can be downloaded from the Flowmon portal https://portal.flowmon.com. After signing in, you will have access to all the packages you have purchased. The installation package can be found in Flowmon Packet Investigator (organized by version).

Installation process

  1. Download the Packet Investigator installation package, including a README file with installation instructions.

  2. Follow the steps in the README file to install the package. You must have administrative access to the Configuration Center module on your Flowmon Collector appliance.

  3. Wait for a green pop-up message to appear, informing you that the installation process was successful. Do not shut down or restart the appliance during the installation process.

  4. After the installation process has been successfully completed, a new Packet Investigator title appears on the main page of the web interface.
