OpenEdge Management provides a command-line interface that performs functions without the use of the graphical user interface.
Note: To use the command-line interface, HTTP must be enabled with
localhost defined as a trusted client. See Set Up Secure Communications for details.
Specifically, the command-line interface allows you to:
- Start, query, and stop OpenEdge Management.
- View configuration information of the OpenEdge Management environment.
- View the list of resources.
- Enable or disable a resource.
- Dump the contents of the OpenEdge Management configuration database to a readable form (an XML file) and, in the event of a catastrophic failure, use the backup dump file to restore the database.
- Access command-line help.
You can also use the command-line interface to work with alerts in the following ways:
- Clear an alert
- Enable and disable polling
- Work with alert commands
