You can enable or disable specific OpenEdge Management functionalities using the resource monitoring options in the OpenEdge Management Resource Monitoring Configuration page. For example, if the OpenEdge Management Trend Database is going to be taken down for maintenance, you can choose to turn off trending, but allow the rest of the OpenEdge Management functionalities to run.

To change the OpenEdge Management resource monitoring settings:

  1. From the management console menu, click Options.
    The Options home page appears.
  2. Click Resource Monitoring.
    The OpenEdge Management Resource Monitoring Configuration page appears.
  3. In the General section, select the following options as required:
    • Poll resources—Enables polling for all resources.
    • Generate alerts—Generates alerts after polling.
    • Collect trend data—Collects resource trend data.
    • Include status changes—Includes status changes of a resources in its trend data.
    Each option in this section is independent of the others, except for Include status changes. If the Collect trend data option is not selected, the Include status changes option is disabled.
  4. In the CPU Monitoring section, select one of the following options:
    • System Wide—Monitors only the usage of system-wide CPU resource and removes all other CPU resources available for an AdminServer.
    • Individual CPU Monitoring—Monitors the usage of individual CPU resources available for an AdminServer, including the usage of system-wide CPU resource.

    These options allow you to choose how you want to manage and monitor the CPU resources in both local and remote AdminServer environments.

  5. Click Submit.
