To enable remote monitoring and configuration, ensure the following prerequisites are met:

  • OpenEdge installation.

  • OpenEdge Management included in the installation.

  • Dedicated, minimally privileged service account to monitor multiple AdminServers (AdminServers or standalone OpenEdge installations).

When OpenEdge Management is configured for remote monitoring on a host machine, messages are exchanged between it and one or more remote machines. These messages are time stamped, and the time information is used in the communication protocol used between the machines. Therefore, it is important that the machines involved have their universal time setting coordinated. You can do this by making sure that the machines subscribe to an NTP time service.
