As a regular user, you can add a subfolder to the current folder if you have the proper permissions.
Note: If you do not see a FOLDERS selection in the left pane of the UI, your user role does not have permissions to access folders. If you have a FOLDERS icon, but no Add Folder button displays, your current user has no Subfolder permission for the current folder.
Figure 1. Add Folder button (when given Subfolder permissions from an administrator)

To add a folder to the current folder:

  1. In the left pane, click FOLDERS. A table lists the files and subfolders in the currently viewed folder. Under the table, click Add Folder. The Add New Folder page opens.
  2. Specify a folder name. If the parent folder is not a root folder, select how the new folder inherits explicit permissions from the parent. Most other folder settings are automatically copied from the parent.

    Inheritance options:

    • Always inherit from parent: Enables the Inherit Access From Parent option, so that the new folder inherits existing and future explicit access permissions from the parent.
    • Copy from parent but do not inherit future changes from parent: Existing explicit permissions on the parent folder are copied to the new folder, but does not enable the Inherit Access From Parent option. The new folder inherits existing explicit permissions from the parent, but does not inherit future changes to the parent's permissions.
    • Clear and do not inherit future changes from parent: New folder is created, but no permissions are copied from the parent. Does not enable the Inherit Access From Parent option.
  3. Click Add Folder.
