To access this dialog box:

  1. Select TASKS and click a task name (<taskname>).
  2. Click Task Settings . The <taskname> page lists settings in categories.
  3. In the Sync row, click Edit .

Sync Type

Unidirectional - replicates content from Folder A to Folder B

Bidirectional - replicates content from Folder A to Folder B and from Folder B to Folder A

Sync Delete options

  • Ignore Deletes

For all tasks: Replicates new files, updated files, and renamed files and folders.

Additionally:

  • for one-way task: Ignores any files or folders that are deleted from Folder A
  • for two-way task: Ignores any files or folders deleted from either Folder A or Folder B.
  • Sync Deletes (default)

For all tasks: Replicates new files, updated files, and renamed files and folders.

Additionally:

  • for one-way tasks: Deletes from Folder B any files or folders that were deleted from Folder A
  • for two-way tasks: Deletes from the other folder any files or folders that were deleted from either Folder A or Folder B
  • Sync deletes and delete extra files on Folder B

Available only to one-way tasks.

Deletes from Folder B any files or folders that were deleted from Folder A.

Deletes any extra files or folders that were created or renamed on Folder B by anything other than this sync task.

Case sensitive comparisons

Considers case in names when identifying files and folders.

This option should be selected if the file systems are case-sensitive and cleared if case-insensitive.

Usually case-insensitive but with some exceptions:
  • Linux SMB server with default settings

Dependent on the target server's file system. For example, if it is a Windows server it is usually case-insensitive, if it is a *NIX system it is usually case-sensitive.
  • Amazon S3
Amazon's Cloud S3 is always case-insensitive however, there are some provider-based exceptions:
  • Case sensitivity may depend on the underlying file system when using an alternate provider such as minIO.
Note: The general settings available in Folder B are more limited than Folder A for both unidirectional or bidirectional sync tasks. The Folder checkbox options are not available in Folder B.
