Creating a User

To create a user, follow these steps:

Click Security in the left tree menu. A list of security items appears.

Click Users.

Click the Create tab.

Enter a name for the user in the User Name field.

[OPTIONAL] Enter a description for the user.

Enter a password.
-
Re-enter the password in the Confirm Password field.

If the user is to be authorized externally, see External Security in Securing MarkLogic Server.

Under the Roles section, select all the roles to assign to the user.

[OPTIONAL] Create default permissions for this user: Select a role name, and pair it with the appropriate capability. Click More Permissions to add more default permissions.

[OPTIONAL] Create default collections for this user: Type in the collection URI for each collection that you want to add to the user’s default collection. Click More Collections to add more default collections.

Click OK.
The user is now added to the system, and the user configuration page appears. If you want to add more default permissions or collections to the user, scroll down to the section for default permissions or collections.
