The effective version of MarkLogic Server is the version that the cluster as a whole is running.
The software version is the version of MarkLogic Server that is installed on each host.
Until you commit the upgrade, the effective version of the hosts in the cluster is the earlier version, not the newer version.
After committing the new version of MarkLogic Server, you must upgrade the Security database. You will be prompted to do so when you log in to the Admin Interface.
Note:
- After committing a rolling upgrade, you cannot roll back to the earlier version of MarkLogic Server.
- Running your cluster in an uncommitted state is equivalent to running it in the previous (earlier) version of MarkLogic Server.
