The Unified Installer supports installing branded versions of the product for AIX, HP-UX PA-RISC, HP-UX IPF, Linux, Linux Itanium Architecture (64-bit), Big Endian Linux for PowerPC, Linux OS on z Systems (64-bit), Little Endian Linux for Power8 (64-bit), and Solaris platforms in the 64-bit Linux environment using cross-platform branding. The primary benefit of cross-platform branding is that you can install and brand product directories for multiple platforms on a single operating system. The resulting binaries can then be used in the building and packaging of your applications. The single-driver installer does not support cross-platform branding.
Cross-platform branding is supported for 32-bit drivers, as well as 64-bit drivers, in 64-bit Linux environments. However, to install 32-bit drivers, the 64-bit machine must have 32-bit compatibility libraries installed.
- GUI installation. See Branding the drivers on UNIX and Linux using the GUI for details.
- Command-line installation. See Branding the drivers on UNIX and Linux using a command-line for details.
- Silent installation. See Branding using the silent installer on UNIX and Linux for
details. Note: For silent installations, you can perform installations for multiple platforms without editing the configuration file between installations. To switch platforms, you can use the DCROSS_BRAND and DUSER_INSTALL_DIR arguments to specify the platform and installation directory when performing the silent installation from a command-line. See "Performing a silent installation" for details.Note: The GUI installer does not currently support generating the configuration file for cross-platform branding.
