DataDirect Connect for ADO.NET DB2 Entity Framework data provider (the DB2 Entity Framework data provider) supports DB2 servers. For the latest support and certification information, visit the DataDirect Product Compatibility Guide.

The DB2 Entity Framework data provider supports the following programming features:

  • Database First
  • Code First
  • Model First
  • "Plain-old" CLR objects (POCO) entities
  • DbContext

The DB2 Entity Framework data provider uses the DB2 data provider to communicate with the DB2 database server. This means that the functionality defined by the DB2 data provider (see The DB2 Data Provider) applies to the Entity Framework data provider unless otherwise noted in this section. Similarly, any performance configurations made to the DB2 data provider are realized by the DB2 Entity Framework data provider.

See the README text file shipped with your DataDirect product for the file name of the data provider.
