Before you begin installation:
-
Exit or close all applications that are running to prevent file-locking conflicts.
-
Verify that your system meets the specified requirements. See System and Product Requirements for a list of these requirements.
-
Make sure that you are a system administrator or have update privileges for the Registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]. These privileges are required to update the Registry with the new data providers being installed. See your system administrator if you are unsure.
Installation adds the libraries required for both 32-bit and 64-bit runtimes. This ensures a seamless development and packaging experience for .NET applications that may encounter either the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Microsoft .NET Framework.
The installer includes a digital signature that identifies Progress Software Corporation as the publisher.
A compiled help file (.CHM) is placed on your system during a normal installation of Progress DataDirect Connect for ADO.NET in the help subdirectory of the product installation directory.
