Network Performance Monitor performance monitors help you ensure that all of your important business applications are available and performing at levels that meet the demand of your users. Performance monitors gather data about the performance components of the devices running on your network. You can use this data with Network Performance Monitor reports to obtain better insight and drill down capability for trend utilization and availability of your devices, which will help you rapidly fix performance issues before your business is impacted.

In an effort to help you manage your network after you install the application, Network Performance Monitor includes the following pre-configured (default) performance monitors:

  • CPU Utilization
  • Disk Utilization
  • Interface Utilization
  • Interface Traffic
  • Memory Utilization
  • Ping Latency and Availability

These pre-configured monitors display in the Monitor Library. You can also create the following device-specific (custom) performance monitors:

As you configure custom performance monitors, they are also added to the Monitor Library. The Monitor Library displays performance monitors configured and available to apply to several network devices. For more information, see Using the Monitor Library. In addition to configuring relevant monitors, you can assign performance monitors to the individual devices you want to monitor using device properties. For more information, see, Using Device Properties - Performance Monitors.

註: Although most devices can be configured with a performance monitor either from the Monitor Library or through device properties, the Printer monitor is the ONLY performance monitor type that is specific to an individual printer device. Therefore, the Printer Performance Monitor can only be added as an individual performance monitor in the Device Properties - Performance monitors property.
