Note:

For initial deployment of your Data Hub project to an instance of MarkLogic Server Service through the Progress Data Cloud Interface, you must have one of these roles in that instance of MarkLogic Server Service:

  • MarkLogic Administrator
  • MarkLogic Developer

To use Data Hub integration endpoints, you must have one of these roles in that instance of MarkLogic Server Service:

  • Data Hub Admin
  • Data Hub Security Admin
  • Data Hub Developer
  • Data Hub Operator
  • Data Hub Monitor

To use Hub Central through the Progress Data Cloud Interface, you must have one of these roles in that instance of Data Hub Central Service:

  • Hub Central Developer
  • Hub Central Operator
  • Hub Central Modeler
  • Hub Central Curator
  • Hub Central Explorer

Data Hub is a MarkLogic project installed on top of an instance of MarkLogic Server Service. This project can be installed by making a request to the Progress Data Cloud Operations Team or by configuring your own Data Hub project locally using standard Gradle tasks.

Important:

In Progress Data Cloud, forests must be created in /usr/data. The default MarkLogic location is for system data and should not be used for forests. Using the default location for forests may cause disk space issues and system instability.

When configuring Data Hub or ml-gradle projects locally, you must set the mlForestDataDirectory property to /usr/data/ in the gradle properties file: mlForestDataDirectory=/usr/data/.

Expose app servers

App servers like data-hub-FINAL and data-hub-STAGING may be exposed. To expose additional app servers, see Expose an app server. Exposed app servers are listed on the corresponding MarkLogic Server Service service card.

Hub Central

Hub Central can be configured upon request. Hub Central can be accessed through its app card on the Your Apps page or by clicking an endpoint on its service card.

Note:

A Data Hub project must be present to configure Hub central
