Silent installation

In addition to manual installation, Semaphore installation applications support parameters that allow the software to be installed silently (without user interaction). This enables the installation process to be scripted or automated. For more information on manual installation, see the installation topics for specific Semaphore components in this section.

When using silent installation, the interactive installers prompt for certain parameters, which are automatically set in the configuration files. As a result, you need to ensure that the configuration files are correctly set to match your environment and requirements. To correct configuration files, you can:

• Manually adjust the configuration files after installation.

• Automate configuration by copying pre-configured files into the appropriate locations.

Silent installation tools and parameters

You can use the Semaphore EXE installers to perform silent installations. Note the following:

  • Semaphore EXE installers are generated using the INNO Setup application.
