You must set several environment variables for the ODBC client on Linux and UNIX by executing a shell script located in the installation directory.
To execute the shell script:
- If you are using the Bourne or Korn shell, type:
oaodbc.sh(32-bit client)oaodbc64.sh(64-bit client)
- If you are using the C shell, type:
source oaodbc.csh(32-bit client)source oaodbc64.csh(64-bit client)
Executing this shell script sets the following environment variables:
| ODBCINI | Specifies where the centralized odbc.ini or odbc64.ini file is located. |
| OASDK_ODBC_HOME | Specifies the full path of the directory containing the ODBC client shared libraries. If this variable is not set, the driver will use the lib subdirectory (or lib64 for a 64-bit driver) of the ODBC installation directory as location of the driver shared libraries. The ODBC installation directory is retrieved from the InstallDir key in the [ODBC] section in the ODBCINI file. |
Executing this shell script also sets the appropriate library search environment variable (LD_LIBRARY_PATH on Solaris and Linux, SHLIB_PATH on HP-UX, or LIBPATH on AIX).
