When the upgrade is interrupted during the post‑install phase, the installer does not trigger a rollback. At this stage, the upgrade is typically complete, but some post‑install tasks, such as service creation or service startup (when the server is installed as a service), or final cleanup may not have finished. As a result, the OpenEdge Command Center server may be installed, but not fully operational.

The recovery steps depend on whether the OpenEdge Command Center server is installed as a service or as a process. Use the appropriate procedure below to restore normal operation.

Resume upgrade for a server installed as a service

To resume the upgrade for a server installed as a service, complete the following steps:

On Windows
  1. Open the Services management console.
  2. Locate the OpenEdge Command Center server service and verify whether the service status:
    If the service is... Then...

    Present and running

Verify application functionality and close this procedure.

    Missing, stopped, or not responding

    Go to step 3.
  3. Recreate the server services:
    1. Open a command prompt with administrator privileges.
    2. Navigate to the install\scripts directory under the server installation directory.
    3. Delete the existing service, if it is present:
      OECCServerService.bat delete

    4. Create a new service:
      OECCServerService.bat create
    5. Start the server service. For details, see Start OpenEdge Command Center server.
On Linux
  1. Open a terminal with root privileges.
  2. Verify whether the service is registered and running:
    systemctl status ProgressOpenEdgeCommandCenterServer<version>.service
    For example:
    systemctl status ProgressOpenEdgeCommandCenterServer2.1.service
    If the service is... Then...

    Present and running

Verify application functionality and close this procedure.

    Missing, stopped, or not responding

    Go to step 3.
  3. Recreate the server service:
    1. Navigate to the install\scripts directory under the OpenEdge Command Center server installation directory.
    2. Delete the existing service, if it is present:
      sudo ./OECCServerService.sh delete

    3. Create a new service:
      sudo ./OECCServerService.sh create
    4. Start the server service. For details, see Start OpenEdge Command Center server.

Resume upgrade for a server installed as a process

To resume the upgrade for a server installed as a process, complete the following steps:
  1. Open a command prompt with administrator privileges.
  2. Navigate to the directory where the server is installed.
  3. Verify whether the OpenEdge Command Center server process started successfully by executing the appropriate platform‑specific command and reviewing the server log files. For information about log files, see View installation log files for OpenEdge Command Center server and agent.
    • On Windows:
      oeccserver.bat start
    • On Linux:
      ./oeccserver start
After executing the platform‑specific command and reviewing the server log files, determine the next action based on the following table.
If the log files indicate the process is… Then...

    Running

Verify application functionality and close this procedure.

    Missing or not responding

    Go to step 4.
  4. Remove the files and install the server. For details, see Install and configure the OpenEdge Command Center server.
