International databases
As part of the installation media, OpenEdge supplies
empty databases that support the language and collation standards
of many languages. The databases are in the OpenEdge/prolang subdirectories.
Look for the subdirectory name that matches a particular language.
For example, the empty database you might use to build a Russian
application is OpenEdge/prolang/rus/empty.db.
These empty databases provide a database labeled with the appropriate code
page and collation table for a language. However, if you are developing applications for a
language or region that is not represented in OpenEdge/prolang, OpenEdge has a utility, PROUTIL,
that you can use to set up a unique database. For more information on PROUTIL, see Manage the OpenEdge Database.
