Purpose

The Oracle System Identifier (SID) that refers to the instance of the Oracle database running on the server. This property is mutually exclusive with the ServiceName property.

If using a tnsnames.ora file to provide connection information, do not specify this property. See Using tnsnames.ora Files for information about specifying an Oracle SID using a tnsnames.ora file.
