OpenEdge Command Center provides the resetoeccdbpassword utility, which allows administrators to reset the password for the OpenEdge Command Center database user.

Before resetting the password, ensure that the following prerequisites are met:
  • You must run this utility only on the primary server in a high-availability setup or on a standalone server.
  • The OpenEdge Command Center database is running on the primary server in a high-availability setup or on a standalone server.

The resetoeccdbpassword utility is located in the utils directory within the directory where the OpenEdge Command Center server is installed.

For example,
  • On Windows, C:\Progress\OECC\Server\utils
  • On Linux, /Progress/OECC/server/utils

Syntax

resetoeccdbpassword

When you run the utility, it interactively prompts for a new password and confirmation. The utility masks the password as you enter it.

Note: The new password cannot be empty.
For example:
resetoeccdbpassword.bat
Starting OECC DB Password Reset Utility...
 Enter new password:****
 Confirm new password:****
OECC DB user password updated successfully

Success: OECC DB password has been reset.
After the password is updated:
  • The utility automatically updates the encrypted database password stored in the db-config.json file.
  • The server automatically reconnects to the database. In a high-availability setup, all server instances automatically reconnect to the database.
