Notification Management

WhatsUp Gold 360 now includes a built-in Notification Management system that gives you and your team precise control over how, when, and where you receive critical infrastructure alerts. Users can configure personal user channels, such as an email address or phone number, while administrators define organizational channels for entire teams or groups, with schedules that control delivery timing based on time of day, day of week, or alert severity. Administrators also configure providers, such as SMTP servers or SMS gateways, that power delivery across both channel types. Event-driven notifications are organized around topics, each defining a specific notification scenario such as a monitored resource becoming unavailable or a performance threshold being breached. Users subscribe to the topics relevant to their role, with optional filters and schedules providing granular control over which notifications they receive and when. Additionally, notices (i.e., system-defined informational notifications from Progress) communicate important information such as license expiration reminders, planned maintenance windows, or feature announcements, with mandatory notices automatically delivered to ensure critical information is never missed.

Network Path Health Report

The Network Path Health report provides a visual, hop-by-hop view of the network path between your monitored site and its destination, using data collected by the cloud connector. Each hop is color-coded by latency; green for good performance, orange for warning, red for critical, and grey for timeouts or unknown responses, so you can immediately identify where delays or interruptions occur, whether inside your network or across external providers. Select any path from the left panel to display it on the main canvas, where the active path is highlighted and alternative routing paths are shown in a muted state for easy comparison. Use click-and-drag to pan and your mouse wheel to zoom in and out of the visualization. Report settings allow you to adjust the date range, filter by site and connector, configure latency thresholds, and set additional display preferences.

Microsoft Teams Integration

WhatsUp Gold 360 now supports Microsoft Teams as a notification delivery channel within Notification Management, giving administrators a way to route monitoring alerts directly into the collaboration spaces their teams already use for daily operations. Configuration differs from other channels in a few key ways: instead of an SMTP relay, for example, Teams delivery is set up through an incoming webhook targeting a specific Microsoft Teams channel, meaning notifications are delivered to a channel or team rather than individual user's Teams inbox. Administrators define the destination channel, verify connectivity with a test/verification send, and can enable or disable the channel independently of other notification providers.

Slack Integration

WhatsUp Gold 360 also adds Slack as a supported notification provider in Notification Management. The key configuration difference from previous providers is that Slack delivery is driven by a webhook tied to a specific workspace and channel. Administrators supply the channel/workspace destination rather than recipient addresses and notifications are posted as formatted messages into that channel following Slack's message-formatting conventions. Consistent with Teams, SMS, and Email, Slack message activity is tracked for monthly usage reporting so it can be reflected in billing/consumption views. Together with Teams, this rounds out chat-based alerting options, letting customers migrating from WhatsUp Gold on-prem retain their existing Slack workflows without losing functionality.
