While a valid SNMP credential is used to discover and identify Flowmon appliances, a uniquely configured REST API credential is required to successfully monitor and collect data for these devices, then subsequently populate the Flowmon-specific dashboard reports. Use the following procedure to configure a REST API for use with Flowmon appliance monitoring in WhatsUp Gold:
- Select Libraries > Credentials from the SETTINGS main menu to launch the Credentials Library.
- Click the + icon, then select REST API from the list of credential types that appears. This launches the Add REST API Credential configuration dialog.
- First, provide a Name and Description for your new credential.
- Select OAuth2.0 as the Auth Type.
- Select Password Grant as the Grant Type.
- Enter
https://{{HOSTNAME OF THE FLOWMON DEVICE}}/resources/oauth/tokenas the Token URL. - Enable the Ignore Certificate Errors checkbox if you are using an untrusted or self-signed certificate on the Flowmon device.
- Enter a valid User Name and Password for the Flowmon device.
- Enter
invea-techas the Client ID. - Click Test to verify the new credential.
- Click Save to close the configuration dialog, then exit the Credentials Library interface.
- Launch the Device Properties interface for the Flowmon device you want to monitor.
- Select the Credentials tab.
- Click the Edit hyperlink next to REST API, then select the new REST API credential you just created.
- Click OK.
